internet scams Question And Answer

Internet scams/reporting?

My scam involved an online dating site. This woman conned me into believing she was going to come and visit me in Texas she being in Mississippi. I was sceptical at 1st when she asked for money but after communicating with her for some time I sent money to the tune of over $700.00. It was all a scam as now she has changed her phone number and no longer answers her emails at her 2 addresses. Who do I report this to ? How do I get her arrested for this crime ?

I don't actually think there's anything wrong with that because it's you that gave her the money out of your own free will and you didn't sign any contract or anything so.....the police can't do anything about that. (I live in the UK, so the law could be different over there in America)
ouch!
damn baby
The question of where to report it is a bit tricky -- where did you send the money, Mississippi? You can start by taking the problem to your local police. Also, you can get more information about this sort of problem at internet-love-scams.org ... they are experts in this field, and will have very useful advice for you.
