internet scams Question And Answer
Why does everyone think things on the internet are scams?
Every time I see a post in regard to making extra money online, I click the link and read it, sometimes I respond. I never spam, if I am asked how to make money and I think they would like what I do, I respond.
Here's the part that annoys me the most... I get reported when someone asks a question and I respond. Why are people trolling questions to report people when you have done nothing but answer an honest question? I wouldn't be surprised if I am reported simply for starting this conversation.
YES, there are tons of scammers on Answers trying to cash in on the people that don't know better, but there are people who answer honestly and truthfully. Heck, I can even provide proof of payment.
So people who don't want spammers or scammers on the site, Great, I agree 100%, but just because someone can bring in a small income from using the internet, does not make it a scam.
To avoid scams, do NOT pay anything, use gptboycott.com and marketingpond.com to see if they are scams.
Also, if I were a big spammer/scammer, why would have I have so many points on here with 40% of my answers being accepted as best answer?
Tammi D, I'm afraid I wasn't begging people to report me, I'm simply stating what seems to happen. heck, if you think I deserve to be reported for this, then yes, click your button. But do I deserve it simply for asking such a question? I guess people have been reported for less, so no big loss. It's been done before, it will happen again, and where will I be? Starting with a new account. Iguess I'm being cheeky, but then again, you were too. :)
Most of you are right in that I answered my own question. It wasn't intentional, it just did a full 360. I think I wanted to give people some ideas as to why everyone thinks they are scams. Or possibly, I wanted to see if everyone read my entire question, which I don't think many do when the questions are beyond three sentences.
Chuck, I know exactly what you are talking about... the free ipods. Yup! not a scam, well depending on what site you are looking at. But you are right, do your research and you won't be ripped off.
Answers
hmm....maybe cuz they are..

Dam right. big up to ya.
every thing is scams
Because alot of perople are jaded from being ripped off...
Well, its hard to trust people sometimes - especially over the internet! You dont know what their intension are and it can be especially hard to trust them. Stick to places you know aren't scams...like BestBuy or Amazon!
I'm guessing because 99.9999% percent of the "get rich" spams are well, spams and fake. Even a spam king who was in Holland and brought to trial admitted that before being caught he'd abandoned the practice as there wasn't enough money in it to be worth the effort.
Rolex, cheap meds, all those emails from former dictators in Africa begging to give you millions. Give me a break and give my email box a rest.
"best" answer is meaningless.
if the questioner doesn't choose a best answer, than the votes received determines it. however, it is simply number of votes, whether thumbs up or thumbs down, that wins. so the worst answer can actually "win." and of course there are lots of questions that don't get answered, so if you're the only one that answers these, then you're bound to win.
now when you say, "I wouldn't be surprised if I am reported simply for starting this conversation." you're just begging someone to report you. you say you're expecting, so lot's of people, myself included, are willing to oblige you. give the people what they want!
"there are tons of scammers on Answers trying to cash in on the people that don't know better"- You
Thats why!
This question could possibly be rhetorical... huh? Seems you have the answer already. The question should perhaps just be that, not a idea implanting thought after thought to back up your theory/answers. Possibly this is a way to get the feedback, to back up your already thought out thoughts!! Enjoy!
It's probably just a matter of odds. It's safer to think that all are scammers when a majority are. Of course, they stand to both lose less and make less that way.
A long time ago, I bought into the website freeipods.com, one that tons of people cried "scam," but, I received one, at no cost to me. After this, I tried to help others, since I was so pleased. Even with photos of my iPod, along with receipt scans, screenshots, etc, many were still skeptical.
People are more willing to cry "scam" than to do some research. It's easier for them, and it takes much less thinking.... :)
because people can hide behind their monitors and do whatever they want
