mail scams Question And Answer
Are christians more likely to fall for Nigerian E mail scams?
you know the ones that promise you millions and all they do is empty your bank account.
Answers
yes
No, I've known several non-Christians that have almost fallen for that scheme until I told them the truth.
Just so everyone knows, there is another one that is hitting businesses and people who offer services (like music lessons) on-line. The scammer contacts the business and indicates they want to buy, rent, obtain the services of the business or individual, asking for further information. When you respond they thank you for the information and inform you that the money will be coming by either cashiers check or by using a credit card. You are suppose to deposit the money then send a portion of it to a travel agent or some other third party. The check is usually several thousand dollars over what you require for payment. The checks are bogus, and so is the credit card. They also request personal information from you. So far, the place I work has had 4 attempts made by these scammers.
I got my first one today. I informed the guy that considering I am only seventeen years old, I currently don't even have a bank account.
Christians, however? I don't know--some of the stupider ones might. And they'd have to be really, incredibly stupid.
