mail scams Question And Answer

how do we forwared mail scams?

My recommendation is to not open the emails. Unless your mail program blocks HTML email, there is often code in scam/spam mail to validate to the sender that 1) your email is legit, and 2) you open these messages. This will actually make you more of a target. The best thing you can do is to ignore them. The odds that you have something that abuse departments across the country don't know about is nil, and you run the risk of exposing yourself to harm.
Not sure if you mean the Lottery scam, the 419 scam or what. But, you can report scams by forwarding the messege, complete with headers, to the company that the email account is registeered to, such as: Yahoo, Hotmail, Netscape, etc. Foreign email providers might require you to go to their websites and look for the abuse link. It takes a bit of work, but you can get the email account shutdown that way. The governmenet email addresses to forward the messeges to, so they can conduct criminal investigations: Federal Trade Commission spam@uce.gov United States Secret Service 419.fcd@usss.treas.gov
if u take the above advice and forward the email don't forget to include full headers so they can track the origin (use show full headers).
