mail scams Question And Answer

What do people think about the Nigerian e-mail scams that have recently been brought to light?

I have gotten quite a lot of these e-mails in the past and I must say, they are really irritating. Did anyone ever respond to them? Maybe for a joke...

i think u have got to be pretty thick to get caught by them
Recently?? I have been getting them for 18 months
Actually, i have a friends whose aunt was stupid enough to reply, they are all scams! She kept sending this person 200$ checks every month for a year and hoping to get money in return even though everyone told her it was a scam, now she believes it....
Recently? LOL--where ya been? Those tings have been around for about three years. As far as internet scams go, nothing suprises me anymore. But what DOES amaze me is that some people could actually fall for them.
Recently?! They been around for the whole decade! Good anti spam email software and other standard virus programs help tremendously as does custom filters setup by yourself if your using a good mail program other than Outlook Express.
for a joke...... more like you got suckered in and don't want to lose face. i have never seen one of these scam emails and if i did i wouldn't open it cos i know what to look for. plus my anti virus helps me also by telling me of possible phising attempts. the reason you keep getting them is because you responded to one/or more.
Recently!!??!! Where have you been? I taught from an English language course book 8 years ago that quoted one! (OK - it was a fax then, but the principal is the same).
if they executed those cheating robbing ar~eholes, life would be a better place. are they taught it in school, most fraudsters i've come across are nigerian, gives a bad name to other Africans.
Not only by e-mail but by messenger !! got one on yahoo. But got too admire their thinking if your dumb enough to go on the net you`re dumb enough to pay LoL
you can have a look on these website they are all real stories about these kind of thing. http://www.scambuster419.co.uk/
I often have these mails,i have responded a couple if times asking how thick they think i am. If u r dsft enough to get cought out u nearly deserve it
Ive been seeing them for years now. Ive never responded to one myself but there are entire sites devoted to people who try and mess with the 419ers to waste their time. My favorite is linked in the sources, people either trying to reverse the scam or getting the scammers to send photos of themselves with stupid signs.
Recently? These emails were doing the rounds in 2000 when I first started regular internet access.
Read them, laugh, and delete. Some are crap, some are well written, but they are all sent by criminal organizations. DON'T RESPOND OR SEND ANY INFORMATION. Most police departments have a section devoted to these scamsters, so you can forward the email to them. Your email address haseither been bought from a spam list, or created as one of many by a random generator. It is reported that people who tried to play them along have had bad endings. Try googling "419" and "Nigerian". The offence is listed under article 419 of the Nigerian criminal code.
Been going in various forms for years, and STILL people fall for 'em! Don't even bother to open them. If you want you can forward them to you isp at abuse@aol (or whoever your isp is).. It's always abuse@, anyway
