mail scams Question And Answer
Why are so many e mail scams coming out of Africa or from someone pretending to be African?
Most people with email get these claims that help is needed to move money out of some bank in another country, usually Africa.
The scams must work at times or they would not be doing it.
We know that insurance companies and large corporations scam the public here in America. I guess the Africans don't know how to scam on a much larger scale like George Bush and the weapons manufactures starting wars based on lies or the insurance companies that will not pay for the houses burned in California. Those people were led to believe that they had enough fire insurance to rebuild their homes. Are not the above all examples of scams?

hello you have won zillions i live in africa
I don't know....I've gotten tons from Sierra Leone when their email is whatshisname@yahoo.jn etc. It's weird.
I don't get "so many email scams coming out of Africa or from someone pretending to be African". I don't get any emails from Africa...
They come from Africa because it's a very large place with very different laws making it hard to trace. Yes the rest are scams.
When you recycle your computers at your local tip, do you know where they go? AFRICA.
The only way to never let anyone get info, off your computer is to burn it.
They government don't tell you this, they want you to recycle, because they make money from it by sending it to Africa.
yeah! there are so many scams coming out of Africa. That's probably because of poverty there.
Anyways, according to TIME magazine, many(i've forgotten the percentage) spam e-mails come from America.
Like this?? I get these all the time and they are incredably annoying...okay so this guy claims to be some gov't type official yet he can't spell worth sh*t...not that I am the greatest speller-yet I don't proclaim to be a gov't officiall..I dunno-you decide..

FOREIGN REMITTANCE DEPARTMENT
CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA
CONTRACT #: MAV/NNPC/FGN/MIN/009,
Our Ref: CBN/IRD/CBX/021/0
FROM THE DESK OF
SENATOR DAVID MARK
SENATE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA
IMMEDIATE CONTRACT PAYMENT/ CONTRACT #: MAV/NNPC/FGN/MIN/009
Attn: BENEFICIARY,
On behalf of the entire members and staffs of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the senate house of Nigeria, I sincerely apologies for the delay of your payment and all the inconveniences that we might have indulge you through. However, this resulted from some minor problems with our payment system, which is inexplicable, and this have held us stranded and indolent, not having the aspiration to devote our 100% assiduity in accrediting foreign contract payments. And due to scamers and impersonators, your payment was handed over to my desk for the final release to take place this year.
As a result of the discovery during the last financial records/audits conducted after the last quarter in the year 2007 by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF), the senate house and the Accountant General of the Federation, on outstanding contract payments of which the government is incurring deficit, I am mandated to make this acknowledgement officially to you by the powers imposed on me as the Senate President of Nigeria, I therefore declare the following discoveries in your file:
1) Your name has been listed as next on the payment list for the year 2008 and as such, the contract proceeds information contained in your file is hereby under listed:
CONTRACT #: MAV/NNPC/FGN/MIN/009,
FILE #: 0137
Swift Code: CBN KPL PK,
A/C#: CBN329606124498
AMOUNT: US$23.7 MILLION DOLLARS
2) The contract was executed at the federal government without full payment at the initial time by a foreign contractor who executed the contract. In the contract Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), it was revealed, at the source, that your name is penciled to receive the balance if the contractor is no more existing with such factor like death or incapacitated.
It is therefore plausible enough to make these assertions to you having adjudged the readiness of the federal government to redeem all outstanding payment at this point in time when the debts owed are causing deficits in the economy as a result of debt servicing.
