THIS IS NOT A SCAM!
I'm REAL and I do this...I have a reg job too and do this part time...look at my sites I will be more then happy to answer any ?'s you might have...hope to hear from you...:)
Most of these work at home jobs are not worth it. They have you sign up for other offers and want you to join memberships. After you choose the one (or more) offers you might be able to get started with the job they want you to do. Another thing to expect is that you'll be waiting a REAL long time to get paid. It's just not worth it.
I encourage you to immediately put these jobs out of your mind. Here are some of my tips when looking for a job....
Networking - Register at your local Unemployment Office (you don't need to be on unemployment to register for their assistance). They often will have networking groups on a regular basis. They also are a good source for the jobs that never show up in the paper or online.
Check your local paper -- In many cases the papers classified are now online.
Search Smart Online -- If you don't have a lot of time, spend most of your time at sites that aggregate the job feeds from several job search engines. Prominently these include indeed.com and thingamajob.com.
Organization -- I use a free online application that allows you to track your ads, jobs you apply for, send or print mail merged correspondence, and track your job search history. This site is jobsearchlog.com
I invite you to check it out and you'll be able to keep track of what you apply for.
Good Luck,
Karen
I've listed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:
http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys
I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).
There are scames out ther though. Here is some tips to avoid them: Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.
Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).
Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.
Here are two other sites which are very helpful

I searched for a while before I stumbled upon some GREAT SITES!! These are all legit, and WILL PAY!!
If you have any questions, just message me!! :)
Have Fun :)
Signing up for these sites is long and tedious. And either the payout is very small (.02-$1.50) or you just get entered in to a sweepstakes drawing. You can not pay your bill with a sweepstakes!I agree with you all about the numerous postings and the "get rich schemes". How do you weed through them all? Most people that want a quick reward will fall for the schemes and then will get ripped off. But people that realize that if you work hard at what you are doing, have the right frame of mind about what they are doing and have the right tools to get the job done, then you will be successful. Aligning yourself with positive people, successful people who has done what it is that you are trying to do, educating yourself about the business and having the proper mindset are keys to success, in my opinion.
